Objective : 1. To train teacher educators in


the use of art as medium
transaction in Schools.

Methodology : The coordinator has already


undertaken a study in the southern
region to understand the health of art
education that is happening in the
school education in southern India.
The results are almost consolidated
based on the outcomes of the study.
The training programme will be
planned by the coordinator with the
help of experts in the area. At the
National level NCT has the aspiration
of transacting this at the B.Ed level
for the secondary teachers, keeping
the aspirations intact the training
programme modules will be
developed by the coordinator taking
the support of the experts in the area.
The modules developed such would
be transacted preferably by the same
resource persons by the training
programme. These modules will help
the B.Ed teacher educators which
should be relevant to the teacher
educators at the secondary level and
this would be transacted.
Total Budget : Rs. 468510 (Rs. Four Lakhs sixty
eighty thousand five hundred and ten

Plans for utilization and dissemination of the : The materials developed in the
end product (s) training will be utilised for training
KPR's and softcopies will be provided
to the states.

3. Need and Justification

Teaching subjects through Art is an area that has not been paid the attention it deserved. Art could
be used as a powerful instrument in conveying ideas and themes related to different disciplines. So
there is the need for a fresh insight and introspection on this subject. At the National level NCT has
the aspiration of transacting this at the B.Ed level for the secondary teachers, keeping the
aspirations intact the training programmes the modules will be developed by the coordinator taking
the support of the experts in the area. The modules developed such would be transacted preferably
by the same resource persons by the training programme. These modules will help the B.Ed teacher
educators which should be relevant to the teacher educators at the secondary level and this would be
transacted. In this area authentic training package will be developed and teacher educators would be
informed and influenced. In this regard there is no training package therefore this activity would be
useful in this direction for wider dissemination, later it would be also converted into certificate
programme.

8. Scheme of Evaluation: Feedback will be gathered from the proponents and beneficiaries of the

the different agencies and beneficiaries of the programme. These inputs will be utilised in future

programmes of similar sort.
