EDUCATION OVER THE YEARS

Changes are very apparent over the years in almost every corner of the world. In most of

these changes, they are seen in the field of education, and can be proved by the numerous

occurrences and adjustments that are done because of it. Education is a vital factor in the

growth of a child, not only mentally, but also physically and emotionally. Due to its significance,

it must be given attention on how the developments have been affecting the system, may they

be for bad or good, and what we can improve or maintain in order to fully achieve successful

learning and growth that is good for the students involved.

One huge factor within the drastic changes in education over the years is the emergence

of technology. Right now, it is very observable that everybody would at least own 1 gadget and

will always spend their time on it, either using it for entertainment, communication, or for being

updated with the current happenings, Technology has replaced numerous things in the past

through its capabilities, and it is now being applied in the field of education as well. The

application of this shows a huge difference from the past to now. According to the research of

Carstens et al (2021), technological developments on education are both advantageous and

disadvantageous due to the difference in how it is used in the field. Technology has developed

education as well in terms of learning materials, in ways that gadgets such as ipads are being

used as the source of knowledge instead of paper books. With the occurrence of the pandemic

as well, education shifted from physical interaction to online learning, which has made

technology even more evident in it. The generation now has technology constantly on their

fingertips, and will certainly continue to play a role in the development in the future.
 Overall, it is given that technology cannot be stopped in affecting everything. And

education will continue to be affected by it, and we must be aware of how we must properly use

it in order to not abuse its capabilities and benefits, and further reach productive learning.
