In this lesson, you are expected to use time expressions appropriately to tell
an action in the present.
Here, you will find sentences, short stories, selections and activities that will
help you build better verbal communication skills. Web links are also
specified as a provision for flexible-learning.
If actions are done regularly or habitually, the verbs used are in the simple
present tense. When to use present tense?
Use the present tense when:
1.1 an action is taking place at the time of speaking
1.2 an action done regularly or habitually
1.3 an action expresses a universal truth or all-time fact

expressions.
Choose the correct answer to express time expressions in the present tense to

tense. Here, you just have to identify the verb, subject and time expression
used in each sentence.

Use the following time expressions to express things that happen during
the day. These expressions can be used with the present forms.

Use 'every' with segments of time such as every day, every month, every
year, every two months, etc.

These are example of simple present tense. Use the correct form of verb that
agrees with the subject in number.
The verbs or action words in Set A end in s. The doer of the action or the
subject is singular. In Set B, the verbs or action words are in the simple form.
They don’t end in s and the doer of the action or the subject is plural.
If the actions are done regularly or habitually, the verbs used are in the simple
present tense. They also use time expressions that show habitual action.
Everyday Father goes to the farm to plant vegetables. Today, Lia and
Jose go with him. In the farm, Jose plays with the animals. He enjoys
horseback riding. Edna gathers ears of corn and boils them.
