SECTION: Stem V- Tabitha SCORE /30

TEST I.
DIRECTION: Solve the following problems, complete with given, formula used, solution (and
conversion if there’s any) and highlighted final answer.

1. Three children jumped on a fountain. There’s 4,950g of water displaced on the ground. How much is
the buoyant force of the water?
Given and Formula:
F B=?

mF =4,950 g=4.95 k g
2
g=9.81 m/ s
F B=mF g

Conversion and Solution:

0.001 kg
mF =4,950 g=
1g
0.001 kg
¿ 4,950= =4.95 k g
1
F B=mF g
2
F B=(4.95)( 9.81m/ s )
F B=48.56 N

2. A diver is swimming in a 1,380 kg / m3 dense river. If the sea is 115m deep but the diver only reached
26m deep, how much is the pressure?
Given and Formula:
P=?
3
ρ=1,380 kg/m
2
g=9.8 m/s
h=26 m
P= ρw g h

Conversion and Solution:

P= ρw g h
3 2
P=(1,380 kg /m )(9.8 m/s )(26 m)
P=351,624 Pa

TEST II.
DIRECTIONS: Briefly respond to the following questions. Write your answers on the space provided.

Where can we apply Bernoulli’s Principle? Give one example and explain why we can apply Bernoulli’s
Principle.

Bernoulli's principle may be applied when the air passing through the top surface of an airplane wing is faster
than the air going via the bottom surface. As a result, Bernoulli's principle dictates that the pressure on the
wing's surfaces will be lower above than below. As a result of the pressure differential, an upward lifting force is
created.
