Objectives: Students are able to identify parts of example rhetorical situations and justify the
identifications they make.

1. 9:05-9:10 Greeting, attendance, Ss questions.


2. 9:10-9:15 Ask Ss what this class is all about. Steer them toward “communication” in all its
forms. Review of the parts of the rhetorical situation.
3. 9:15-9:20 Explain that we will make the parts of the rhetorical situation clearer in class this
morning. We will do this by talking about a real rhetorical situation and trying to describe it.
Hopefully, through thinking carefully about this example it will help you think more deeply
about the rhetorical situation of Project 1.
