Identify what kind of text type is the following paragraph. Encircle the letter of the
correct answer.
1. Researchers have used cryogenic electron microscopy to show that
coronaviruses enter human cells through an interaction with angiotensinconverting
enzyme 2 (ACE2).
Scientists exploring how coronaviruses like COVID-19 infect human cells
have shown that the SARS-CoV-2 spike (S) glycoprotein binds to the cell
membrane protein angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) to enter human cells.
COVID-19 has been shown to bind to ACE2 via the S protein on its surface. During
infection, the S protein is cleaved into subunits, S1 and S2. S1 contains the
receptor binding domain (RBD) which allows coronaviruses to directly bind to the
peptidase domain (PD) of ACE2. S2 then likely plays a role in membrane fusion.

3. Cut the meat into two-inch thick cubes. Let it boil in two liters of water until tender.
Add the vegetables and season to taste.
4. Once there was a king who unfortunately made the land he ruled the worst place
on Earth. The people cried everyday in misery. The dead, both from natural and
human-made causes, ceaselessly piled up. One day, a beautiful creature descended
from the heavens to relieve the people from the control of the rotten monarch. The
king mysteriously expired and the whole kingdom was freed at last.
5. It was a most wonderful gift. The wrapping itself was already pretty and festive.
The box emitted a sweet scent when opened. The red cotton-like material that
protected the gift was so relaxing to the hand.
