Review about Types of Speech Context
What are the types of speech contexts?
Give examples of each.
Group the class into 4. Assign each type
of speech context in each group. Let
them prepare a simulation activity of a
situation in each type of context. Remind
them to use appropriate verbal and
nonverbal communication.
Brainstorming about what to do in the

interpersonal communication. What
made you say that it was successful?
Ask the students about how they would
ask each of the following people to wait
for them/give them a moment:

Cashier at a store
Listen to the students’ answers.
Do you have the same message to the
different people mentioned? In what way
do your messages differ?
Discuss each speech style using a ppt. .
Have the students give more examples of
these speech styles.
Alternatively, list some people and have
the students identify what type of speech
style they will use when talking to that
person. Have them explain their reason
why.
Why should we need to match our speech
style with whom we are talking to?
