Why did the Catholic Church and other big Catholic schools and organizations
strongly object to the passage of Rizal Bill into Law? Indicate the effects of this to
the Filipino youth at present.
The simplest reason why Catholic Church and other big Catholic schools and
organizations strongly object to the passage of the Rizal Bill into Law is that people,
especially the youths, will change the way they see the Catholic Church. They think
that the honor and integrity of the Church now is more important than the works, life
and sacrifices of Dr. Jose Rizal. He is the National Hero, therefore his life must be
studied . Rizal Bill is not meant to destroy something but to tell history, reality and
heroism.
