ATHENAS BATTLEFIELD- Best Manager event.

Rules and regulations-


1. Structure of the competition-
a. The competition will be spread across two days (26th and 27th of August), for the
exact timings refer the overall Plutus event schedule .
i. Day 1 participants will be given specific tasks, which will be communicated
to the participants at the beginning of each round.
ii. Round 1 will be an ice breaker round. Participants will either be put through
PR crisis situations and will be asked to come up with solutions .
iii. Round 2 will be an agenda round. Every participant will be grouped at
random and will be given a common agenda which will be directed to them
on the day of the event. They will get 30 mins to prepare and another 30 mins
to form a pitch after which they will be called to present their pitch. They will
get 7 minutes to pitch their agenda and 3 minutes for judges questions.
iv. Day 2 participants will all participate in round 3 and only 5 will move on to
the last and final round.
v. Round 3 will be an all nighter round. Participants will be sent an email at
8pm on the day one, which will contain the caselet regarding the round. The
round will basically have a failed business plan which they have to totally
reconstruct and pitch it to relevant investors. They will be required to make
the ppt, video and report of their b plan at their homes. This will be an
elimination round.
vi. Round 4 will be a stress round. 4-5 participants with highest cumulative
scores will reach the finals of Best Manger which will be a proper stress
round. They will be asked controversial questions where they have to take
stance, they will be roasted, insulted and tested on their on spot thinking and
speaking ability.
b. Round 1,2 and 3 are not elimination rounds. All participants from Day 1 will go on to
compete on Day 2.

2. Judging and deciding the winner-


a. Day 1- the individual performance is judged on the following parameters-
i. Round 1- participants will be tested on their-
 Communication- how articulate and relevant the participants points are.
 Creativity- how unique the participants arguments and solutions are.
 Confidence- how sure a participant is of their points and ideas

ii. Round 2- participants will be tested on their-


 Risk management- how well a participant can damage control.
 Stress management- how effectively they can come up with solutions
in a stressful situation.
 Problem solving abilities- how effective the solution is.
iii. Assertiveness- how the participant is able to handle questions from judges
and convince judges of their point of view.
b. Day 2- The participants will be judged in a team setting. The criteria for judging is as
below-
i. Round 3- participants will be tested on their-
 Creativity- how unique the solution is.
 Problem solving abilities- how effective the solution is.
 Adaptability- how each participant is able to work when curveballs are
thrown at them
ii. Round 4- participants will be tested on their-
iii. on spot thinking- how quickly a participant can come up with an appropriate
response to the question asked with no prior practice or time.
iv. speaking ability- how articulate and relevant the participants points are

c. There will be three winners- Our Best Manager and two runners up. The winners will
be decided basis their performance on Day 1 and Day 2.
d. Scores from Day 1 will not be published individually.
e. The decision of the judges shall be final.

3. Basic Rules-

 Carry appropriate stationary and electronic devices that you may require (phone,
laptop/tablet).

 Your devices are to be used only when directed or during the breaks. Use your devices to
search for information, get references etc. participants should refrain from using their
devices to contact any person for help with the contest. If the participant is found doing so
they will be disqualified from competing further.

 If at any point of time the participant has an inquiry, they may direct it to the- assigned
logistics personnel from Greenwood High.

 Participants should refrain from discussing amongst one another as it may lead to
disruptions of the contest.

 Participants must wear their school ID’s at all times.

 Caution should be taken in the course of the competition so as to refrain from displaying
obscenity and vulgarity.
