Surf’s up!
Frank and Lin Vargo, who had been stranded
at home in St. Marie for nearly a week, finally
got out-n-about this past Sunday thanks to the
St. Marie Fire Department. The crew worked
through the night to get the entrances cleared
which was really difficult with over six foot drifts.
Frank and Lin wasted no time once they were
“freed” to take a drive and check out some
sights. Got your surf board ready? Lin took this

“Elmer Keith, His Life Story” has an excerpt about an
old barber friend of his in Helena ‘...he was a small man,
an old gunfighter, but one of the fastest men I’ve ever
seen with a single action Colt... Sam used to give me
lessons in quick-draw work.’
Keith goes on to tell a story about Sam, the barber
later killing another man in a gun duel, etc. in a Helena
bar and getting three years in the pen for it.
I would bet it was your Powder River Kid. Might

United States
March 8th this year the Florida
Federal District Court released the
following report following a suit filed by
the Immigration Reform Law Institute (IRLI) asking the
court to strike down Biden’s ill thought out and totally
unconstitutionally illegal “Catch and Parole” policy.
‘Today, in a blistering 109-page opinion, the court
harshly denounced Biden’s immigration policies, saying
that his actions since January 20, 2021 “were akin to
posting a flashing ‘Come In, We’re Open’ sign on the
southern border,” and that Biden has “effectively turned
the Southwest Border into a meaningless line in the
sand and little more than a speed-bump for aliens
flooding into the country.” Agreeing with IRLI, the
court stated that prosecutorial discretion did not give
the administration free reign to release many thousands
of aliens the law requires it to detain.’ ( Taken from a

To date there are an estimated 5 to 7 million illegals
in country who have knowingly broken several or more
of our laws by crossing our border illegally.
Today Fox news had a segment showing a panel of
politicians questioning US Border Patrol Chief Raul L
Ortiz about the border invasion and what is being done
to eradicate the situation.
The panel was supposed to be bi-partisan with
several Republicans as well as several Democrats having
been invited to ask questions. The Republicans showed
up.....the Democrats didn’t. Not one Democrat showed.
Too embarrassed? Knowing they had absolutely no
answers for Biden’s actions? Knowing full well they
couldn’t have Kamala’s back?
All this put the BP Chief between a rock and a
cheesecake. Should he lie to placate his bosses and save
his job or should he do the right thing and tell the truth
to some very tough questions.
He did the right thing.....to a point. He skirted some
questions. He spun some things and he simply wouldn’t
answer a question with a Yes or No. One panelist asked
him, several times, “is the border secure.” Ortiz refused
a yes or no and rambled on about other topics just as if
the question had not been asked.
Alejandro Mayorkas, Head of Homeland Security
is Border Patrol Chief Ortizs’ boss and most of the
questions put to Ortiz put him in jeopardy with
Mayorkas but Ortiz manned-up and told the truth to
the best of his knowledge. We need more officials like
Otriz. Someone not afraid to tell the truth even when
the truth could mean losing his job or being put on
Mayorkas’ shinola list. Good on ya’ Chief Ortiz. At any
rate, the border IS NOT secure.
There are 19,648 Border Patrol officers costing the
American tax payers $3.8 billion yearly. The Northern
border between Canada and the US is about 5,250
miles or so. The southern border is about 3,150 miles
of which 1,145 miles are border-on-water. The eastern
and western boundaries are borders-on water which
total about 3,500 miles collectively. There are about
12,500 or so miles of US border that needs protecting.
The southern border between Texas and California is
the heaviest crossed border between two countries in
the world.
What’s it going to take to make our borders air
tight? I have a suggestion that might cause me to get
in trouble with the freedom of speech wokes but my
solution would be to place 50 caliber gun placement
crews about 500 yards apart along all dirt borders with
orders to protect the country. Along water borders
point the guns out to sea. It would be a great deterrent.
Whether or not to use the guns would be entirely up
to the criminals who are trying to enter our country
illegally or to bring their drugs and human trafficking
into the United States.

has turned to burnt toast.

Legislative Leadership Condemns Violent Rhetoric

HELENA, Mont.— All members
of Republican legislative leadership
jointly condemned violent pre-
planned remarks from a former
Montana Supreme Court justice
who spoke to a crowd in the State
Capitol Rotunda Wednesday.
James Nelson, a former justice
on the Montana Supreme Court and
is a frequent contributor (unpaid)
for Lee Newspapers and the Daily
Montanan, appeared to endorse
politically-motivated violence
against the Legislature, Governor,
and Attorney General when giving
his prepared remarks.
“Make no mistake. Make no
mistake, this challenge is, and will
continue to be a fight, indeed a
fight to the death against the jihad
focused on our third branch of
government. A war perpetrated by
the supermajority Freedom Caucus,
the Legislature, the Governor, and
the Attorney General,” Nelson said
(emphasis added).
Nelson was reading from
prepared remarks, showing he
clearly premeditated and planned
his comments saying ongoing
political and policy disagreements
are and will continue to be a “fight
to the death” before continuing with
a terrorism and war metaphor.

condemned Nelson’s violent rhetoric
that elicited applause from the
crowd gathered at the State Capitol.
“Violence has no place in
our politics, in our elections, or
in the policymaking process. We
are alarmed and disturbed that a
former Montana Supreme Court
justice would engage in such violent

elected officials in his comments
about a ‘fight to the death.’ We
condemn Justice Nelson’s violent
rhetoric and call on all Montanans
to keep violence out of our
