QUESTION: What is communication and why it is important?

- Being able to communicate effectively is one of the most important life skills. Those
with good interpersonal skills are strong verbal and non-verbal communicators and
are often considered to be “good with people”. to learn. Communication is defined as
transferring information to produce greater understanding

QUESTION: What is the significance of communication studies?

- Studying Communication can improve how we see others as communication is the

way we meet others, develop and manage relationships and work effectively with
others. Studying Communication can increase our understanding of relationships.
Studying Communication develops important life skills.

QUESTION: Your father is not keen on your decision to study medicine in Japan. How can
you persuade him, bearing in mind the barriers to communication that you might encounter?

- As one of the Gen Z, the best thing that you can do is to make him realize the value
of the course that you will be taking. Give him or site some testimonials that in your
area your planned course will bring you to success. And make an emotional appeal
to your father that your success is theirs also.
ACTIVITY D
QUESTION: The meaning of communication lies in the way that it is received. Do you agree
with the above statement? Make a reflection out of this statement.

- YES, how information is received determines how effective a conversation is. We are
individuals with varying interpretations. This explains why there are so many different
religions even though we all read and utilize the same Bible. The message will have
a distinct meaning for the two of them no matter how hard the sender tries to explain
it because the recipient's heart is very different from his. However, if one lives and
thinks simply, one need not be concerned because the majority of people share this
opinion.

President Duterte's administration saw an increase in COVID19. The president is

such a bad guy, Loida said. "Loida's neighbor, a fan of the president, became irate
because, in her opinion, she was describing the president as the "misfortune" of the
nation, while the other neighbor said that Loida was expressing sympathy for the
president in her remarks. This is an illustration of how the interpretation of
communication determines its meaning.
