up their surroundings --- rocks and soil, plants and animals, the Sun, Moon and stars. They can also
classify these things as solid, liquid or gas.

Content Standard
The learners demonstrate understanding of ways of sorting materials and describing them as
solid, liquid or gas based on observable properties.

Learning Competency
Classify objects and materials as solid, liquid, and gas based on some observable characteristics;

I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of 60-minute class, 75% of the students are expected to:
A. Identify the properties of matter; solid, liquid and gas;
B. Recognize the importance of solid, liquid and gas, and;
C. Label whether solid, liquid and gas.

II. SUBJECT MATTER

A. Topic: Properties of Matter (State of matter)

D. Lesson Proper

1. Discussion of solid, liquid and gas

The state of matter is called Solid, The students will listen and take down
Liquid, and gas. All matter is made up of notes
very tiny particles called molecules. Matter
is determined by the way molecules are
arranged in the substance.
Molecules in solid are tightly packed,
giving them a define shape and a fixed
volume. In liquids, the molecules are
loosely packed such that they do not have
a definite shape but do have a fixed
volume. In gasses, the molecule is very
loosely arranged. Gasses have neither a
definite shape nor a fixed volume.
