Rationale
The introduction and implementation of the K to 12 Basic Education Program necessitated changes
and revisions on existing DepEd programs to align them with the new curriculum. The K to 12
curriculum puts emphasis on capacitating learners with skills in doing their tasks and enriching these
as they progress up to Grade 12. The curriculum takes into account societal factors and the learner’s
developmental needs. They need to perform different tasks, confront personal and social issues, and
eventually decide for their curriculum exit. A responsive and proactive program in addition to the
existing academic programs must address these needs.

Objectives:
• To orient the parents in the implementation of Homeroom Guidance Program through Modular
Approach;
• To discuss the process of distribution and retrieval of Homeroom Guidance Modules;
• To inform parents about the Learners’ Homeroom Guidance Program Assessment Tool;
• To discuss clear plan on the giving of learning feedback.

Participants: Grade 7-10 Parents/Guardian

Grade 7 Adviser – Mariel Lyka D. Tambut
Grade 8 Adviser – Laskhmi Vanessa A. Gatchola
Grade 10 Adviser – Napoleon V. Sundiam Jr.

Meeting Proper: The orientation started at 8:00 AM with a short program led by each class adviser.
After the preliminaries, the following topics were discussed during the orientation:
✓ Context of Homeroom Guidance (Rationale & History)
✓ Process of Distribution and Retrieval of Homeroom Guidance Modules
✓ Learners’ Homeroom Guidance Program Assessment Tool
✓ Feedback/Home Visitation/ Intervention
There was an Open Forum after the discussion and each class adviser answered some of the queries of
the parents. The orientation ended at 10 in the morning.
