DAILY LESSON LOG Teaching Dates and Time: SEPTEMBER 13, 2022 (WEEK 4) Quarter: 1ST QUARTER

I.OBJECTIVES
A.Content Standards The learner demonstrates understanding of the four fundamental operations involving fractions and decimals.

B.Performance Standards The learner is able to apply the four fundamental operations involving fractions and decimals in mathematical problems and real-life.

C. Learning Competencies M6NS-Id-106.2

Adds and subtracts decimals and mixed decimals through ten thousandths without or with regrouping.
II.CONTENT Adding and Subtracting Decimals and Mixed Decimals Through Ten Thousandths without regrouping

III. LEARNING RESOURCES

A.References
1.Teacher’s Guide Pages Page 34-38
2.Learner’s Materials Pages Page 25-30
3.Textbook Pages
4. Additional Materials from Learning
Resources (LR) Portal
B. Other Learning Resources drill cards, chart, flash cards
Show-Me-Board
IV. PROCEDURES
A. Review Previous Lessons/Drill The teacher will group the class into three. The members will then form their own lines with two members for each row. Every row will
have to answer the given equations as fast as they could. The first row to give the correct answer will get a point.

Find the sum or difference:

1) 0.421 + 0.002 =
2) 12.21 + 9.18 =
3) 3.77 – 0.21 =
4) 1.249 – 0.123 =
5) 5.55 – 0.64 =
B. Establishing purpose for the Lesson Present a simple story.

Andrea does not easily throw things or objects like paper bags, plastic spoons and forks, pieces of strings or ribbons, Christmas or
birthday wrappers, and others. She neatly stores them in a box or cabinet for future use.
 What does Andrea do with the used things or objects?
 What kind of girl is she?
 Do you also recycle things/objects? Why?
C. Presenting examples /instances of the Problem Opener.
new lessons
One day, Precious, Andrea’s younger sister needed 4 pieces of ribbon for her project. Andrea gave her yellow, pink, blue, and red ribbons
with lengths 0.2 m yellow ribbon, 0.16 m pink ribbon, 0.3m blue ribbon and 0.485 m red ribbon. How long are the yellow and blue
ribbons if put together?

When Precious compared the red and pink ribbons which is longer? By how much?

If Precious connects the ribbons altogether, what would be the sum of their lengths?

D. Discussing new concepts and practicing Let pupils write this on their “Show Me Board”. Let them discuss/explain the placement of decimal points and what place value should be
new skills #1. added first, second and so on…
0.2 m
+ 0.3 m
0.5 m

Then, let the pupils solve the second question asked.

When Precious compared the red and pink ribbons which is longer? By how much?

0.485 m
- 0.16 m
0.325 m

If Precious connects the ribbons altogether, what would be the sum of their lengths?

0.2 m
0.3 m
0.485 m
+ 0.16 m
0.1145

E. Discussing new concepts & practicing Work in Pair.

new skills #2 Find the sum or difference.
1) 0.23 + 0.72 =______
2) 0.002 + 0.234 + 0.3141 = ________
3)0.4213 + 0.031 + 2.1122 = ________
4) 0.0925 – 0.033 = ____
5) 0.5571 – 0.1032 = ____

F. Developing Mastery (Leads to Formative Perform the indicated operation

Assessment 3) 1. 0.934 2. 0.8234
+ 0.503 + 0.23

3. 0.2134 4. 0.2039
+ 0.1102 - 0.0237

5. 8.2648
- 2.1435

G. Finding Practical Applications of concepts Solve:

and skills in daily living 1) How much more than 7.13 is 9.99?
2) Take away 1.5125 from 10.7899
3) Find the sum of 11.424 and 98.455
4) Selling boiled corn. Mang Obet walked 2.5 km to Alfonso Market then 4.2 km around the town before taking rest. How many
kilometers had he walked?
5) Cardo will give 23.75 kg of mangoes and 11.25 kg of chicos to his aunts. How many more kilogram are the mangoes than the chicos?
H. Making Generalizations & Abstractions Let the pupils determine on how to add/subtract decimals through ten thousandths without regrouping.

2) 0.13 + 0.0002 + 0.1002 = N
3) 161.4676 – 20.1035 = N
4) 16.021 decreased by 13.9452 is ________
