CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION
A. The Backround
In this CBR, the focus will be on communication both verbally and in writing. This
communication is more emphasized in the use of a foreign language, namely English.
Because, it is undeniable that the role of English as a bridge of cross-country communication
in today's digital era is very useful.
English si very i mportant because the majority of English-speaking countries such as
the United States, Britain, and Australia are countries that dominate the global industrial
arena. Currently, more and more local Indonesian companies are entering the international
market, and vice versa. As the world becomes more and more connected due to globalization,
it is only logical that companies want to compete.
The limited ability to speak English often causes problems. For example, cooperation
opportunities with international-class companies are canceled due to not being able to provide
workers who master English as communication, job applications at a foreign company are
rejected due to lack of English language skills, negotiations fail due to misunderstandings
with potential foreign partners, or work is delayed. due to stammered communication with
clients from other countries.
So, in today's digital era, language is one of the barriers for those who cannot master
English. So as the times develop, there will be more and more challenges that must be faced
by the generation at that time. To overcome this, we as the younger generation must have
English language skills to support a career.

B. The Purpose
The critical purpose of this book is to find out the advantages and disadvantages of
the book's contents, to review or examine the contents of the book, to find out the learning
material from the contents of the book.
C. The Benefits
Then the benefits are to fulfill the Teaching and Learning Strategy coursework and to
increase knowledge about how to criticize a book. and basically the purpose of writing this
critical book report is not to insult, demean, and find fault with the author but can be used as
input to the author in the form of criticism and suggestions on the content, substance, and
method of writing the book.

The situation in the world of work is difficult to predict. In fact, sometimes there are
situations that are beyond control and prediction. In the professional world, of course, you
will face problems, ranging from the ordinary to the complex. The rhythm of the professional
world is unpredictable, especially for those in the creative industry. In the world of work, we
certainly know the terms, namely thanks, please, and sorry. These three words are very
effective for building harmonious professional relationships with colleagues at work.
In this chapter, the author explains and gives example sentences to solve problems in
the office as follows:

for making a good project proposal, providing information to suppliers, and how to write

Chapter 5 : Meetings and presentations in English

In this chapter the focus is on meeting grammar which is central to business
communication. Please note that most meetings have an agenda or list of things to be
discussed in the meeting. When deciding what to talk about at a meeting, it's important to set
an agenda first. The person in charge of setting the agenda and explaining the meeting is the
chairperson.
In this chapter the author provides some rules or tips that need to be known in a
meeting, starting from tips on how to open a meeting, how to ask for opinions, and how to
use expressions to close the meeting and the grammar that needs to be used when asking
permission to be absent from work or leave.

Chapter 6 : Work visits and business trips

In this chapter the focus is on discussing the procedures for adapting various customs
or cultures from various countries which of course have differences. For example, in
American culture asking the company for a salary is a natural thing, but in Indonesia it is
even disrespectful. In addition, such as the custom or culture of shaking hands in Indonesia,
Germany, Italy, and Belgium, it is a natural form of communication, but it is different in
northern Europe and England that they do not like it. So in this chapter we explain in detail
how to adapt the custom when in a meeting and how to welcome and promote the company
to these foreign guests.

Chapter 7 : Resign
In this chapter, the author provides tips on how to load a letter of application to leave
work starting from letterhead, good grammar to use, expressions of apology, and expressions
of gratitude. Because according to authors that the way a person leaves a job can affect a
future career. Therefore, in this chapter she explain the tips to resign well.

B. The Strengths
. This book has a complete identity. On the opening page of this book, the author also
gives some words of motivation so that it will arouse the reader's enthusiasm. I think in this
book also explains in detail about tips on getting a job untill to how to resign from a job
properly Some of the advantages that I found in this book are that the cover of this book is
attractive, so that it can attract the interest of the reader. Next the material is explained and
step by step. The language used is also easy to understand so that readers do not find it
difficult to understand the reading. And the punctuation used is also already correct.

C. The Weaknesses
If we look for a flaw in a book, it may be very difficult to find it because every writer
has different abilities and methods to write book. But in this book the weakness is that the
language of instruction used is Indonesian, so if a foreigner wants to read the book, the reader
will translate it. I think it makes difficulties for readers to understand it.

CHAPTER IV
CLOSING
A. Conclusion
Based on the book I analyzed, this is closely related to communication in English to
help in the world of work. Especially at this time technology is growing rapidly where
everything is digitalized. For this reason, to deal with the development of digitalization, good
English language skills are needed, especially in the world of work. So in this book, various
ways and tips are explained to master English in work related to communication with
outsiders or internationally, starting from how to find a job, basic vocabulary related to work
and even a good way to resign from work. From this book it is concluded that communication
in English is very important and useful in a career.

B. Recomendation
I think this book is very suitable for Indonesian people who want to enter the world of
work related to international language communication or people who want to find work. This
book is also recommended for students to assist them in conducting research on technology in
language learning.
