Lý thuyết:
Câu chủ động: Subject + Verb + Object
Câu bị động: Subject + Verb + By Object
Ví dụ: My mother is washing apples in the yard.
→ Apples are being washed in the yard by my mother.
Cách chuyển:

Vật bị tác động ở câu (1) là Apples lên làm chủ ngữ ở câu bị động (2). Động từ ở dạng be Ving thành
be being Ved/3. Chủ ngữ ở câu (1) thành tân ngữ ở câu (2): My mother -> by my mother.

Bài 2: Chuyển câu sau sang câu bị động

1. John gets his sister to clean his shirt.

2. Anne had had a friend type her composition.

3. Rick will have a barber cut his hair.

4. They had the police arrest the shoplifter.

5. Are you going to have the shoemaker repair your shoes?

6. I must have the dentist check my teeth.

7. She will have Peter wash her car tomorrow.

Từ có 2 âm tiết:
- Từ thuộc loại danh từ, tính từ thì trọng âm thường rơi vào âm tiết thứ nhất.
VD: ‘happy, ‘apple
- Từ thuộc loại động từ thì trọng âm rơi vào âm tiết thứ hai.
VD: de’sign, re’pair…
Với từ có 3 âm tiết trở lên:
- Từ có đuôi -y, -al thì trọng âm rơi vào âm tiết thứ 3 từ dưới lên
- Từ có đuôi -tion, -ic thì trọng âm rơi vào âm tiết ngay trước nó.
- Từ có đuôi -oon, -ese, -ee thì trọng âm rơi vào chính nó.
