Learning Objectives: At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:
Identify different kinds or types of paragraphs;
Construct an example of one kind/type of paragraph;
Comply the given task honestly; and
Explain the issues on drugs in our country showing concern to
our fellowmen

Resources Needed: Curriculum Guide in English 7 page 104, power point presentation
(Appendix A)
Methodology
Introductory Activity Do the following:
( 5 minutes) a. Describe your first love
b. Convince your best friend to join a singing contest
c. Tell you classmates what is bullying
d. Narrate your experience of being a teenager
Give your feelings when you heard your classmates share their respective
experience.
Activity Each group will receive a paper strip and then create a scenario using the
( 20 minutes) following process:
Group 1: narrating
Group 2: describing
Group 3: convincing
Group 4: telling/informing
Process the performance of the class.
Then, present a short power point about the basic types of paragraph.
Analysis
( 10 minutes)
Ask the following questions:
1. Based on your work, do you apply the features of a given
paragraph?
2. How do you determine if an essay uses a type of paragraph?
3. How does the distinction of paragraph type help in your
comprehension?
Abstraction What do you think is the purpose of distinctions of paragraph type?
( 5 minutes) Is it beneficial to language learners? Why?
Application Write a 2-paragraph essay and indicate what type of paragraph you are
( 20 minutes) using, your content must be about positive and negative observation of
your hometown, issues of development and destruction. Be guided on the
rubrics shown on Appendix B.
Assessment Present your output in the class, and prepare for feedback based on the
( 5 minutes) rubrics.
Encourage discussion during the giving of feedback.
