Sogod National High School

ACTIVITY:
Description/ Employee recognition has long been a cornerstone of effective
Rationale: management. It is the open acknowledgment and praise of
employee’s behavior and achievement. It is done to express
appreciation, motivate employees, and reinforce desired
behavior. The simple act of acknowledging the achievement is
a major boost for employee’s morale and performance. When
outstanding employees are recognized and valued, they
elevate their performance, and influence other employees to
do better.

The Department of Education regional office in Eastern

Visayas issued Regional Memorandum No. 1099, s. 2022.
The regional memorandum was titled as 2022 Search for the
Most Outstanding DepEd Region VIII Officials/ Employees/
Schools Division Offices/Schools. It was emphasized in the
memorandum that the search aims to encourage creativity,
innovativeness, efficiency, integrity, and productivity in the
public service, by recognizing and rewarding officials,
employees, and offices/schools, individually or in groups, for
their innovations, inventions, superior accomplishments, and
other personal efforts which contribute to the efficiency,
economy, or other improvement in government operations,
and/or other extraordinary acts or services in the interest of
the public.

In support with the Deped regional memorandum, the school

PRAISE committee recognizes and appreciate the efforts of
the school’s most outstanding awardees. Thus, a school level

awarding ceremony is proposed. Their immeasurable
contribution to the achievement of the school’s goals should
not be taken lightly. Through the awards ceremony, it will
surely increase productivity among teachers by giving them
the assurance that their constant efforts will be recognized by
the school. Employees could also go extra mile when they feel
they have the chance to get recognized and this is highly
beneficial to employees and the school administration.

Objectives: This Awards Ceremony aims to achieve the following

objectives:
● Award the Most Outstanding Employees
● Recognize and value the awardees’ noble expertise
● Encourage goal setting and goal achievement plans

Employees in Sogod National High School
HIGHLIGHTS:
The highlights of the activity were the following:
a. A school – based screening was done last October 20,
2022 on the submitted documents by the applicants of
the search;
b. A validation of results for the Most Outstanding
Employees in Sogod NHS took place together with the
school principal last October 27, 2022;
c. There was an official announcement of the school-
based awardees for the Most Outstanding Employees;
d. The school-based awarding ceremony was done for the
Most Outstanding Employees in Sogod NHS; and
e. The school-based awardees were endorsed to the
District PRAISE Committee for their endorsement to the
Division school PRAISE committee.
ISSUES/CONCERNS The campaign for search for the Most Outstanding Employees
was limited due to the dissemination of the memorandum, only
few teachers were able to comply the necessary documents
for the school – based screening. Despite this concern, the
school PRAISE committee was able to award the deserving
employees of Sogod National High School
