TRC497, MOD G

Effectivity: TRC497 SKYWATCH , P/N 805-10800-001

Reason: MOD G is a production change to reduce TRC497 interference in Cirrus aircraft

installations. The TRC497 interferes with the transponder due to the aircraft’s composite
material and the close proximity of the TRC497 to the transponder antenna. The
transponder is unable to reply to interrogations when the interference occurs.

Compliance: MOD G is optional and will be incorporated into units returned for repair from Cirrus
Design manufacturing. Other units returned for repair can be modified at customer cost.
Future production units will incorporate MOD G.

Description: MOD G adds a Ferrite inductor to the BITEWIN control line of the RF Receiver PCB
assembly (P/N 812-10805-001).

Approval: This Service Bulletin contains no modification information that revises the approved
configuration and therefore does not require governmental or other regulatory agency
approval.

Manpower: Removal and replacement of the TRC497 should take 1 hour. Time is not reimbursable
by L-3 Communications Avionics Systems, Inc.
