1.4 Purpose
• To provide the procedure to store scrapped parts, material, and tools in scrap area
• To provide the procedure to mutilate scrapped parts, material, and tools.
• To ensure acceptable recording of scrapped parts, material, and tools in scrap area.
Note : All The Above Document should be kept for 3 (three) years.
2. Definitions
• Scrapped parts, material, and tools is parts, material & tools as per AMOM 2.19, include material
waste from workshop, such as wheel, brake, etc.

3.2 REQUIREMENT
• Scrapped parts, material, and tools received in scrap area should be ready to be mutilated or phased
out and shall have condemn tag and/or list of condemned parts, material and tools as well as
shipping document.
• In addition to above documents, legal statement from customer, provider, or other authorized party is
needed (if required) for scrapped parts, material, and tools. The statement shall imply that the parts,
material, and tools is ready to be mutilated.
• All scrapped parts/ material in scrap area should be listed in current condition.
• Mutilation shall be performed in such a manner to ensure that part cannot be used for aircraft
maintenance purpose. Several acceptable methods of mutilation including:
i. Grinding
ii. Permanent distortion
iii. Drilling holes
iv. Sawing
v. Removal of a major lug or other integral feature
• Mutilation is performed for scrapped rotable part and repairable part. All material (including
consumable) from warehouse (i.e. mod kit, seal, filter element, etc) also need to be mutilated.
• Mutilation is not performed for
1. Carpet, seat cover, foam, and other cabin parts that are accessories.
2. Sheet or bar that has been cut from its original shape.
• In a case that part is intended to be re-used for non-aircraft purpose, part number or data plate
information shall be removed.
• Part/Material Mutilation Statement is provided based on customer request.
• Condemn tag is removed from part that has been mutilated.
