On March 20, 2023, the school held a Pride March Parade. The said event held various
activities which the student from different departments have participated on the said event. The
university Kween Candidates also participated on the parade. This was all organized by the
Supreme Student Council of the University. This event opened new doors for people like me, who
is a part of the LGBTQ+ Community to express ourselves in our own unique way without
judgment.

As we all know, despite being in the modern era where people are accepting it doesn’t
mean that the discrimination is not present anymore. The community still receives a lot of hate
especially in the Philippines. The Philippines as we all know, is a conservative country. Students
who are part of the LGBTQ+ community are still facing discrimination, harassment, and even
violence not just in schools but also outside the premises of schools. So, the University holding
this kind of events impacts a lot of students who is part of the community in a way that they feel
safe and accepted inside the school. It gives the assurance that they can be who they are inside the
premises without judgment.

This event did not just accepted students like me, it promoted gender equality. It did not
just entertain students but promoted inclusivity for all gender. It reminded a lot of people that being
part of the community is something to be celebrated not be ashamed of.
