Topic/Title Quarter 2- Module 1: ELECTRONIC STRUCTURE

OF MATTER
Grade Level 9
Date November 19-23, 2022
Time allotment 60 minutes
Performance Standards
The learners should be able to explain how Quantum Mechanical Model of the atom
describes the energies and positions of electrons. (S9MT-IIa-22)
Learning Competencies and Objectives
At the end of the lesson, students should be able to:

 Describe electron configuration and write the correct electron configuration of the
given element;
 Describe the set of quantum numbers and complete the given set of quantum
numbers for each given element; and
 Supply the following data from the electron configuration such as: period number,
group number, number of paired and unpaired electrons, number of valence electrons
and number of core electrons.
ELICIT (5 minutes) Materials
What’s in Periodic Table? PowerPoint, Visual aid

Students will recall the elements on the periodic table.

Teacher will ask questions such as:

1. What is the 1st element in the periodic table?

2. What is the atomic number of an element?
3. What is the atomic mass of the element?
4. How do we get the number of neutron, electron, and
proton of an element?

ENGAGE (5 minutes)
Arranging of electrons in the atom of the first 10 elements. PowerPoint Presentation,
The students will answer the table by distributing the video about fireworks, activity
electrons of an element on the orbitals, and will also provide sheet.
