A. Reviewing or Mental Computation
presenting the new Solve the problems mentally: ( Refer to Attachment 1)
lesson Each pair of pupils will answer the word problems read
by the teacher. The teacher reads 5 or more word
problems written in an index card. Each correct answer
will be given 2 points. The team with the highest points
wins the game.
Sample problems:
a) After buying some books and school supplies worth
Php 45.75, how much change will you receive from a 50
peso bill? (Php 4.25)
b) Aling Josie bought 1.5 kg of pork, 1.75 kg of chicken,
and 1.25 kg of beef. How many kilograms of meat did she
buy? (4.5 kg of meat)
c) A kilo of onion costs Php 24.50. How much will 4 kilos
cost? (Php 98.00)
d) Edgar reads a book for 1.5 hours per day. How many
hours does he spend reading in a week? (10.5 hours)
