“A discourse marker” is a “word” or “phrase” that helps maintain the flow of a conversation.
Examples of discourse markers in English are “now”, “look”, “then”, “I mean”, “wow”, etc.
a. Học Tiếng Việt ở TVO vui nhỉ? 1. be put in the end of a sentence to confirm something that the speaker has
just realized and solicit the listener’s agreement. (The speaker tries to seek
the confirmation)
b. Anh học Tiếng Việt ở TVO cùng em nhé! 2. be put in the end of a sentence to express a friendly proposal
c. Anh thích học Tiếng Việt ở TVO không ạ? 3. be put in the end of a sentence to show respect (to people of higher social
status, age)

a. Em thích học Tiếng Việt ở TVO hả? 1. be put in the end of a sentence to denote a rhetorical question, which
establish rapport in a friendly/casual manner (something cute here)
b. Học Tiếng Việt ở TVO vui hen? 2. be put in the end of a sentence to express insistence in an intimate way
(normally with someone who is close)
c. Cho em học Tiếng Việt ở TVO cùng anh với! 3. be put in the end of a sentence to indicate a question, normally in an
intimate/casual manner
