Did you notice the pictures posted on the board?
Those are the basic nail designs that I am going to Yes Ma'am
tackle.
First, the Plain Manicure

Plain Manicure is the traditional application for

nail polish to the entire nail plate. This type of nail
designs is what we usually apply and see in our
nails.
The correct procedure of making a plain manicure:
1. Apply base coat
2. Apply liquid nail polish
3. Remove excess polish
4. Apply top or seal coat
( The teacher will present a short video about the
procedures in making plain manicure design) ( The students attentively listen and
That is how you make a plain manicure. watch the video presentation)

Next, we have the half moon.

Ms. (name of student), kindly read the definition
of half moon. Half Moon design involves the
application of nail polish over the whole
nail plate except the area of lunula.

Moreover, the name was derived from the shape of

the lunula that is like a half moon.
Procedures in creating a half moon design:
1. Apply platinum twice on the nail.
2. Apply color enamel from one side to the
other side following the shape of the
lunula.
3. Remove excess polish.
4. Apply topcoat
( The teacher will present a short video about the
procedures in making half-moon nail design) ( The students attentively listen and
watch the video presentation)
Let’s proceed with the next design.
Half-moon with tip.
This involves the application of colored spolis.h
over the whole nail except the area of lunula and
tip of the nail.

How do we achieve this basic nail design?

1. Applying platinum or white polish
twice on the nail. Allow it to dry.

procedures in making half-moon with tip nail ( The students attentively listen and
design) watch the video presentation)

Next, nail design, we have here French or tip

design. This nail design has two variations. As we
go on with the discussion you will distinguish the
difference between these two.
French Manicure Variation 1 is a design which
involves the application of colored polish over the
whole part of the nail except the area of the free
edge.

design

While in French Manicure Variation number 2,

it is a design which involves the application of
white nail polish or colored polish on the tips and
coating the rest of the nail with a sheer polish.
( The teacher will present a short video about the
procedures in making half-moon with tip nail ( The students attentively listen and

Did you notice the difference between these two

designs? Yes ma’am.
Very well!

Lastly, we have the elephant tusk nail design.

Elephant Tusk is a style that involves the
application of nail polish to create S curve, leaving
a slightly large gap along the nail walls. How are
we going to achieve this kind of nail design?
1. Apply the 1st and 2nd coat of the platinum
or white nail polish to the whole nail plate.
2. Make a half circle design at the inner side
of the nail. Shape the other side, following
an S-like.
