Class let us start our discussion!

Half-Moon with Tip Design

Half-moon with tip design is a popular and
stylish nail art technique that combines two
classic nail designs into one unique and eye-
catching look. It involves creating half-moon
shape at the base of the nail, often left bare or
painted with a contrasting color, while the rest
of the nail is decorated with a tip design. This
combination creates a striking contrast and
adds a touch of elegance to any manicure.
(Students are listening actively to the

classic French tip, where the tips of the nail
are painted white or a contrasting color, to
more elaborate designs that incorporate
ombre, glitter, or other decorative elements.

Half-Moon with Tip is a combination of two

basic designs - Half-Moon and French tip. To
create this design, it involves the application of
color enamel over the whole nail plate except
the area of the lunula and the free edge or tip.

Steps in Creating Half-Moon with Tip

Design

Please read the first step, Kaye

1. Apply base coat on the nail twice.

Allow it to dry. (Kaye reads it)

Kaye: Sir, the first step is applying the base

coat. It helps to prevent staining and
discoloration on nails caused by pigments in
the nail polish.

Very good, Kaye!

What is the second step, Daniella?

2. Apply color enamel from one side to
the other, following the shape of the (Daniella reads it)
lunula and the free edge. Both the
free edge and the lunula should be
left uncolored.

Daniella: Sir, the second step is applying

color enamel following the shape of lunula
and free edge to create half-moon with tip
design.

(Joshua reads it)

3. Repeat the application of the color if
necessary. Allow it to dry.

Joshua: Sir, we can repeat the application of

nail polish because one coat of color may
not be enough to achieve the desired
opacity or intensity.

4. Remove excess nail polish using a (Everyone reads it)

cotton-tipped orange wood stick.

Whole Class: Sir, after applying color nail

polish we are going to remove the excess
nail polish using orange wood stick.

(Miles reads it)

5. Apply top coat twice.

Miles: Sir, this will help to protect the color

and add shine. After applying the top coat,
allow it to dry completely.
Very good, Miles! In addition to that applying
top coat can make a glossy look.

(The teacher will demonstrate each step.)
