Hi my name is Maryleen Dheenasha, I am eleven years old, and I am from SJKT

Bandar Springhill, Class of 5 vaiduriam.

Today I would like to share with you the impact of covid-19 on Student and
their Education.

Covid 19 has affected different people in a different way, along that all
students are also includes. As an affected student I would like to share on my
personal experience on how this Covid-19 has affected me. In the beginning
stage of the pandemic and first total lockdown, I was so curious about how will
our studies. Then the lesson was carried on via whatsapp and some
educational links will provided by my teachers, I was excited about online
learning method at the first but when day pass by I found this is not good as I
get bored easily and nothing exciting anymore, then some implementation
went on. we started with Google Classroom with the initiative of Ministry of
educations which I found quite interesting whereby I can see my friends and
teachers via online class which makes me excited to explore more about
Google classroom and enjoy doing them and I thank and appreciate for the
action taken by our Ministry of education to come up with the solution on
Google classroom.
Due to rely on the internet all the time to get my work done. We have to use
my parent’s hotspot for Internet connections then my parents subscribe home
WIFI connection, I have faced some network connection problems, that is due
to almost everyone in my house relying on the Internet to complete their daily
works, like my mom, she is working from home and she need internet too. Not
only me but my brother also need internet to join his online classes and to
complete the task given to him. Sometimes, we are not able to fully join the
lesson due to internet interruption and connection lost, after re-join the class
sometimes the lesson will be almost over. In this situation, I don’t feel I
completed the lesson fully on that particular day. I also faced some problems
with the gadgets. We had limited gadget in the beginning at home then when
time goes on my parents get me a laptop because I really need laptop or a
computer to continue my online classes. For that I really thankful to my
parents to provide me and my brother with the proper gadgets and internet
connections in order for us to continue our learning. Apart from that I must say
I have a wonderful teachers, I wholeheartedly appreciate the initiative taken
by our school regarding the online classes to enable learing during this hard
times for us. The school has been off but our learning hasn’t. all the new
concepts and learning materials prepared by my teachers to make the student
understand clearly and easily. I am extremely grateful to them.
I can’t do physical activities like cycling in the park, spend my evening in the
park with my friends. I can’t see or talk with my friends either. I miss walking to
the library and reading books. I miss doing my duty at school. After school me
and my friends will play around in the school but we can’t do that now. I miss
mostly everything about and my days with my friends and teachers in my
school. I must admit this, I feel the disciplinary of the students can be lack too.
Such as waking up early in the morning, not doing any physical exercises.
Therefore, normal routines for students have been disrupted and we have
been forced to avoid social contacts, which may lead to stress for the students
too.
Even though, the teaching and learning online was implemented during this
pandemic but from my personal experience nothing can be as good as we
physically study at school. But somehow, we are as a student juggling our lives
with this covid 19 outbreak and hoping this pandemic will end soon and our
student life become as normal as before. Let’s think good and pray for
everyone. For now, stay at home and stay safe. Thank you.
