Task 78-11-12-830-002
1. General
(2) For part number 290-1501-501 the tail cone assembly is made of
Inconel 625 honeycomb bonded to perforated Inconel 625 skin on
the air passage surface and non-perforated Inconel 625 skin on
the opposite side.
(3) For part number 740-1061-503 the tail cone assembly is made
titanium alloy.
(4) For part number 740-1061-505 the tail cone assembly is made
Inconel 625.
(5) The tail cone assembly is attached to the engine with 13 bolts.
B. Operation
(1) The tail cone assembly directs air out of the engine and
permits smooth air flow out of the common nozzle assembly. The
cone is of convergent duct shape. This shape gives required
direction and increased velocity of the air flow as it leaves
the engine.
