The discharge to be pumped, Q = 345600 L/d

Discharge to be pumped per hour pumping 12 hours = 28800 L/h
= 8.000 lps
However adapt = 8.000 lps
By Lea's formula, economic size of pumping main, D is given then:
D = 1.22√Q
Hence, D = 109.12 mm

For 100 mmØ GI pipe
Inner Diameter of Pipe , D = 100.00 mm
For length, L = 540.00 m
Pipe material being used GI
Velocity of flow, V = Q/A = 4Q/πD² = 1.02 m/s
Absolute roughness = 1.00 mm
Coefficient of friction, f = 0.0350
Using Darcy-Weisbach equation
Headloss, H1 = f.L/D.v²/2g = 9.99 m
Assume Headloss in Pressure Filter = 15.00
Total headloss = 24.99
Total head for pumping = Level difference + headloss + Suction head
Depth of Water Table = 250.00 m
However take the dynamic level of water below the sumpwell for submersible pump as
(Assumed) = 5.00 m
Total dynamic head, H = 319.99 m
Pump model :
Phase of power supply : 3 phase
Power of pump required: 33.48 kW (45 HP) (45 HP)
Discharge : 8 lps at 319.99 m head
Use Pump of 24 HP capacity
