NARRATIVE ON READING MONTH CELEBRATION

SY. 2023-2024

In line with memorandum CLMD-2023-216 known as “2023 PAMBANSANG


BUWAN AT ARAW NG PAGBASA with the theme “Pagbasa: Pag-asa sa Matatag na
Kinabukasan”, Kalatagbak Elementary School jointly celebrated the
“PAMBANSANG BUWAN AT ARAW NG PAGBASA” with ISUGOD NATIONAL HIGH
SCHOOL EXTENSION on November 30, 2023 at Kalatagbak Covered Gymn. The
program started with the “BOOK CHARACTER PARADE”, which started at the
Brgy. Hall of Barangay Kalatagbak, everyone walked wearing their chosen book
character costume. Afterwards, the program formally started with an opening
prayer led by Mam Grace S. Dela Cruz, Kindergarten Teacher, followed by the
singing of the Philippine National Anthem, conducted by Sir Ariel N. Garilao, APAN
Teacher from Isugod National High School Extension and an opening remarks was
given by Sir Elias B. Talaman, the OIC of Isugod National High School Extension.
For the contest proper, Sir Elias B. Talaman presented the criteria for judging. The
first activity was the Book Character Costume Contest, every grade level enjoyed
presenting their own book character costume,there were two categories; the K-3
Category and 4-6 Category, from K-3 Category, Judea Faith S. Dela Cruz, wearing
her “Princess Snow White” from Grade 1 outshine the other contestants while
Franciss C. Morandez, wearing his warrior costume outstand the other male
contestants. From 4-6 Category, Crystine Joy M. Bartolome from Grade 5 wearing
her self-made angle costume outshine the other female contestants while Leove A.
Cotina wearing his transformer costume outstand the other male contestants. The
winners were awarded with sash and certificate of recognition. For the secondary
level, Lyra Jean L. Loncio, wearing Venus costume won the other female candidates
while Alvin Tocuyo won among the male contestants. The next activity was the
interpretative dance from the secondary level, Group D under the advisory of Mam
Barbie D. Bautiso won among the contestants. In the poem contest, Lyza Joy L.
Loncio outstand the other contestants. There were also presentations from every
grade level such as folk songs from kindergarten, story telling from grade 1,retold
by Judea Faith s. Dela Cruz, poem reading from grade 2, “Ang Sampung mga
Palaka”, grade 3 also presented a short story entitled, “Linda’s Bag, retold by
Gracel Mae R. Garo. Another story telling from grade 4, retold by Lessie T.
Sambilan while the grade 5 did the poem reading, entitled “Ang Pamilya”. Lastly,
the graceful grade 6 learners presented their Jazz Chant. To finally end the
program, Mam Lyda L. Loncio gave her closing remarks in behalf of the school
head, Mam Myra G. Paciones. Mam Princess Anne F. Cabudac from Kalatagbak ES
and Mam Cassey Rose Llazanas from Isugod National High School Extension
served as the EMCEEs of the event.
