I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, learners should be able to:
1. discuss the life of the selected contemporary Filipino composer/s;
2. cite an example of how to promote traditional music to the younger generation; and
3. present and point out the characteristics of the musical style of the mentioned
Filipino composers.
II. CONTENT
A. Topic: Traditional Composers (Continuation of the lesson)
B. Reference: Sunico, Raul M., Evelyn F. Cabanban, & Melissa Y. Moran. Grade 10
Learner’s Material. HORIZONS Music and Arts Appreciation for Young Filipinos.
Philippines: Tawid Publications, 2015.
C. Materials: Ppt, laptop, speaker, and television.
III. PROCEDURE
A. Preparatory Activities

2. Review of the Lesson
The students will share their knowledge about the lesson taught
yesterday.
B. Motivation
The teacher will play a song entitled “Awit ni Maria Clara”,
composed by Antonio J. Molina.
The students will give their observations about the music they
heard.

The teacher will discuss and present the life of the remaining traditional
composers using a Powerpoint presentation.
The students will give their comments and suggestions about the lesson.
D. Application
The students will write an essay on how they promote traditional music to
the younger generation.
