Lesson Plan

Description of class:

The class consists of 9 adult students who are all beginners in English. They come from various countries and
backgrounds and are interested in improving their English language skills for work and personal reasons.

Main aims:
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to introduce themselves and ask and answer basic personal
questions.

Subsidiary aims:
To practise pronunciation and stress patterns of personal information words.

Timetable fit:

This lesson fits into a course that meets twice a week for 12 weeks, with each lesson lasting 2 hours.

Materials:
 English File Beginner Course book
 Smartboard
 Flashcards with vocabulary related to personal information
 Handouts with sentence structure and question formation

Anticipated problems and solutions:

 Have students practise asking and answering questions about
personal information based on the text.
