in solving word problems that applies in real- life
situations
Affective: Appreciate the importance of solving word
problem in real life situations.
A. Content Standards The learners demonstrates understanding of
subtraction and multiplication of whole numbers up to
1000 including money.
B. Performance Standards The learners is able to apply subtraction and
multiplication of whole numbers up to 1000 including
money in mathematical problems and real-life
situations.
C. Learning Competencies/ Objectives At the end of the lesson, the learners should be able
Write LC code for each to:
1. Identify the steps in solving word problems
including money in subtraction;
2. Solve the word problem using the steps in solving
word problems that applies in real- life situations;
3. Appreciate the importance of solving word
problem in real life situations.

Motivation:
The teacher will show a real life scenario about buying
goods.
B. Activity Give Me!
The pupils will be divided into three groups. The pupils
will be given one word problem and each group will do
the task.

Group 1: This group will answer the following


questions:
1. What is ask in the problem?
2. what is/are given in the problem?

Group 2: This group will answer the following


questions.
3. What operation should be used?
4. What is the number sentence?

Group 3: This group will answer the question.


5. What is the answer?
C. Analysis The teacher will ask questions about the activities.
D. Abstraction The teacher will discuss the steps in solving word
problems including money in subtraction.
IV. Generalization The teacher will ask question and recall the steps in
solving word problems.
E. Application Group Activity
On the same group the pupils will perform the
different task.
Group 1: Draw me!
The pupils will be given a word problem and they will
describe what is written by drawing the object.
Group 2: Act Me!
The pupils will perform the scenario of the word
problem given.
Group 3: Match me!
The pupils will match the lock with word problems in
the keys with the correct answer.
Evaluation :
The teacher will give worksheets and the pupils will
answer what is ask.
