Teacher’s Activity Students Activity

 Prayer In the name of the Father and of the son and the
holy spirit…AMEN
Everybody stand up and let us pray…Lead the prayer

Exactly! What are the five senses? Please raise your & taste”
hand if you want to answer.

Okay very good!

So let’s move on to our next lesson

B. Lesson Proper

 So today, our discussion is about solid, liquid, &

gas “Phases of Matter”
“It is very important to have the three phases of
Who knows that we can use it in our daily life, hands matter, solid, liquid. and gas. Because, without liquid
up. that is water we cannot leave as it contains a mixture
of hydrogen and oxygen. Without oxygen that is a gas
we cannot leave as it helps in the breathing
“How could you say so Airielle?” respiration, and lastly food is a solid and we cannot
live without food as we need water to be full with
energy to work the whole day and food gives us
energy to work.

Okay very well said!

 Presentation
“Okay ma’am
I will show you three pictures and you will tell me what
they are.

 Motivation

What do you see in this

picture?

Do you still like milk? And

when was the last time that you ate candies and buying
a balloon?
“Ma’am the one in the first picture (a) is candies,
picture (b) is milk, and lastly picture (c) is balloon.”

 Discussion Yes, because it’s good for my bones, while yesterday I

bought some candies for my friends, but today I’m
Let’s r4ead and find out what is the difference going to give each of my friend some balloons for my
between solid, liquid, & gas. present.

About Matter:

Matter is something that has mass and volume.

Matter can be found in several phases. The three most
common phases of matter on Earth are solid, liquid, and
gases. Solid have a fixed shape and volume, a solid’s
particles are packed closely together. There is not much
space between the particles and there is little particle
movement. A solid not easily compressed. Liquids have
a fixed volume, but take the shape of the container in
which the sit. There is not much spare between the
particles, but they can slide past each other and flow
easily. A liquid is not easily compressed. Gas fills the
shape and volume of the container in which it sits.
There is a lot of free space between its particles and
they flow easily past. Each other gas can be
compressed.
“Students listen attentively”
 Application

Okay class I will group you into three groups and

each group will pick a mystery box and explain what
was chosen inside the box.

“Okay ma’am”

Group 1
Group 2
Group 3

IV. EVALUATION

Read each of the statements carefully and decide whether they are true or false.

_____1. When a solid changes to a liquid, it is called melting.

_____2. The particles in gas are packed tightly together.

_____3. Solid take the shape of the container that they are in.

_____4. Liquids take the shape of the container that they are in.

_____5. When a solid reaches its melting point. It becomes a liquid.

V. ASSIGNMENT

Give three examples of a state change. Be sure you state the example and the phase
change (ex. ice melts, solid to liquid = melting).
