B. Review:

Give some descriptions of magnet. Write your

answers in
the graphic organizer.
Lesson Proper:
How Is Heat Transferred?

 Heat is transferred in different materials and in various ways.

The heat of the tofu soup is transferred to the spoon soaked in it. The spoon is a
solid material. It has a direct contact with the hot soup. As a result, heat is
transferred from hot to cold substances. Heat transfer through solid substances is
called conduction. Heat is transferred from molecule to molecule through direct
contact.
In Activity 2, the boiling water appears to form bubbles. These bubbles move up
and down. Heated water molecules become light, so they rise. Cold water molecules
are heavy which tend to sink. The rising and sinking of liquid or gas molecules is
called convection current. Convection is the transfer of heat through the movement
of liquids and gases. The clothes hang on the clothesline under the heat of the sun in
Activity 3 dry easily especially when the sun shines brightly. Drying of clothes and the
transfer of heat to your hand from a burning wood are examples of radiation. The
transfer of heat through a space or vacuum is called radiation.
IV.Evaluation:
Give some descriptions of magnet. Write your answers in the graphic organizer.

Directions: Tell how heat is transferred in the given situations.

Write conduction, convection or radiation on the blank before each item.
DAY 3 and DAY 4
I.Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, students should be able to :
1. classify objects as to whether they can be attracted by a magnet or not
2. make a chart of objects that can be attracted by a magnet
3. make a graphic organizer showing the descriptions of a Magnet
.II. Subject Matter:

Title: Materials Attracted by Magnet

Reference: SCIENCE AND HEALTH 4 MELC-BASED

Materials : powerpoint , videos

III.Learning Tasks:
C. Preparatory Activity
- Prayers
- Greetings
- Checking of attendance
- Energizer
Review:

Lesson Proper:
Heat is transferred from a warm substance to a cold substance in three ways: conduction,
convection, and radiation. Conduction is transferred through solid materials. In
liquids and gasses heat is transferred through convection. Radiation is the transfer of
heat through a space or vacuum.
