2. illustrate the parts of a circle; and
3. identify the parts of a circle.

III. PROCEDURES
Teachers’ Activities Learners’ Activities
A. PRELIMINARY ACTIVITIES
- Okay class, before we start the day let us ask
guidance form our Almighty God. Class
President, kindly lead the prayer.
- (The Class President will lead the prayer)
- Happy Morning, class!
- Happy Morning, Sir! We are glad to see you.
- Thank you! Okay, for checking of
attendance, may I ask you to open your video
camera and microphone then say present
once your name was called. Understood?
- Yes, Sir!
- (The teacher will call the names of the
students in checking the attendance)
- (The students will open their video camera
and microphone then say Present)
- Before we formally start our discussion, may
I request everyone to open your video
camera for our documentation.
- (The students will open their video camera)
- Thank you! (The teacher will take
screenshots for documentation). Do we have
any homework, class?
- None, Sir.
B. REVIEW
- Okay, before we proceed to our next lesson
let us have a short review about our last
lesson. Anyone who can recall what we had
discussed last time? Yes, Raven?
- Sir, our last lesson is about triangles.
- Thank you, Raven! Yesterday we discussed
about Triangle. Now, what is a Triangle? Yes,
James?
- Sir, triangle is a three sided polygon.
- Very good, a triangle is a polygon that has
three (3) sides. How do we classify triangles
according to angles? Yes, Kyle?
- Acute triangle less than 90, right triangle
exactly 90, obtuse triangle one angle
measures greater than 90.
- Great. When we say acute triangle all angle
formed measures less than 90, right triangle
one angle formed measure exactly 90, obtuse
triangle one angle measures greater than 90.
What about according to sides? Yes, Mj?
- Equilateral triangle all sides are equal,
isosceles triangle two sides are congruent,
scalene triangle no sides are congruent.
- Very good. Equilateral triangle all sides are
equal, isosceles triangle two sides are
congruent, scalene triangle no sides are
congruent. Any questions about triangles?
- None, Sir.
C. MOTIVATION
- Before we proceed to lesson proper, let us
have a short activity. The activity named
“Describe Me!”. This will be the mechanics of
the activity, I will flash a picture of an object
and all you have to do is to name and
describe the object. Did you understand
class? - Yes, Sir!

- Okay, let us start the activity. You only have

5 seconds to name and describe the object.
(The teacher will flash the pictures on screen)

- (The students will click raised hand button

to name and describe the object)

- Very good, class! Thank you for your active

participation in our activity.

D. LESSON PROPER
- Based on the activity, kindly observe and
notice the similarity of the pictures presented
on the screen. Anyone in the class who wants
to share their observation. Yes, Dave? - Sir, the pictures on the board are all circle
in shape.

- Very good, Dave! So, according to Daves’

observation what do you think is our topic for
today? Yes, Lea? - Sir, I think our topic for today is about circle.

- Exactly! Our topic for today is about circle.

And today we are going to talk about the
parts of a circle. Before we discuss the parts
of the

circle let us define first what is a Circle?

Anyone? Yes, Lovely?
- Sir, a circle is a closed curve.

- Yes, Sir.
- Next we have RADIUS, what do you mean by
radius? Yes, Glyza?
- Sir, radius is a line connecting the center
and any point of the circle.
- Great. Radius is a line segment joining the
center to any point of the circle. The plural of
the word radius is called Radii. Did you get it?

- Yes, Sir.
- Any question so far?
- None, Sir.
- Are you sure class?
- Yes, Sir.
- Class, if you have any question regarding our
topic feels free to ask me, okay?
- Yes, Sir.
- Okay, let us proceed. Next we have
DIAMETER, any idea what is a diameter? Yes,
Patrick. - Sir, diameter is twice the radius.

- Very good! A diameter is a line segment

which joins two points of the circle and
passes through the center. It is twice the
length of the radius. Understood?

- Yes, Sir.

- Next we have CHORD. What do you mean by

chord? Yes, Karen? - Sir, chord is a line connecting two points of
the circle.
- Very good! Chord is a line segment which
joins two points of the circle. Did you get it?

- Yes, Sir.
- Next we have ARC, when we say arc it is a
part of the circumference. There are three
kinds of arc: Semicircle, Minor Arc and Major
Arc. Let us discuss first the SEMICIRCLE. Any
idea what is a semicircle? Yes, Trisha?
- Sir, semicircle is the half of the circle.
- Very good. A semicircle is an arc which is
half of the circumference. Understood?

- Yes, Sir.
- Next we have MINOR and MAJOR ARC. Any
idea? Yes, Anabelle?
- Sir, Minor arc measures less than 180, then
the major arc measures greater than 180.
- Exactly! Minor arc is shorter than semicircle
then the Major arc is longer than a semicircle.
Did you get it?

- Next we have TANGENT LINE it is a line

which touches the circle at exactly one point. - Yes, Sir.
It does not cut the circumference. The point
at which it touches the circle is called Point of
Tangency. Is it clear class?

- Next we have SECANT LINE it is a line that

intersects the circle at exactly two points. - Yes, Sir.
Understood?

- Yes, Sir
- Any question, class?
- None, Sir.
- Are you sure?
- Yes, Sir.
- Okay, if you don’t have questions let us have
your activity.

E. APPLICATION
- For your activity, your task is to draw a real-
life circular object and illustrate all parts of a
circle with that object. After that, I will ask 5
students to present their output it in the
class. You only have 10 minutes to do the
activity. Are you ready class?
- Yes, Sir!
- You may now start to do your activity.
- (The students will start doing their activity)
- Times up! Are you done class?
- Yes, Sir!
- Okay let us have the presentation.
- (The selected students will present their
work)
- Excellent!

F. GENERALIZATION
- Okay, before we proceed to your seatwork
may I know what have you learned for today?
Yes, Christian?
- Sir, we have learned about the circle and its
parts.
- What are the parts of a circle? Yes, Miguel?
- Sir, the parts of the circle are the following:
Center, Circumference, Radius, Diameter,
Chord, Arc: Semicircle, Minor Arc, Major Arc,
Tangent Line, and Secant Line.
- Very good. Anything to add?
- None, Sir.
- Let’s see if you really understand the lesson.
Bring out your seatwork notebook and
answer the following.
- (The students will get their seatwork
notebook and answer the activity).
IV. EVALUATION
A. Identification
