Detailed Lesson Plan in English for Academic and Professional Purposes

I. Objectives

At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:


a. identify facts from opinion;
b. distinguish facts and opinin from the given text;
c. perform the activity prepared.

c. Materials: IM’s, Flash cards, Manila paper, Pilot

A. PREPARATORY ACTIVITY
1. Prayer
May I request everyone to please stand. “Oh God Almighty…”
Christian Jay, please lead us the prayer.

2. Greetings
“Good morning class!” “Good morning, ma’am”
“Please take your seat” “Thank you, ma’am!”
“How’s your day?” “We’re fine ma’am.”

3. Checking of Attendance
“Are there any absent today?” “None ma’am!”

4. Setting of Standards
As we go on to our formal discussion, I want you to
know first the agreement that we should be followed.

1. Keep all your phones so that you can focus on


our discussion.
2. During the discussion if you want to answer
don’t do it in chorus. If you want to, please raise
your hand.
3. Answer honestly all the activities.

5. Motivation
To set up your mood, let us play a word search. I will
group you into 3. (Students will be

facts and opinion.

“What is Facts?”

which can be proven to
be either true or false.
It has its reliability,
validity, and truthfulness.

D. GENERALIZATION
Always remember that fact is different from opinion. Fact
is an information that is factual and proven with evidence
while opinion is only expresses the mindset or idea of people
that may not true, or no one proven that it is true.
