Ms. Barabar? (Ms. Barabar):

I observed that each sentence differs in
its content, Ma'am.

Very Good observation Ms. Barabar.

The activity is about Type of Sentences

according to use because the 1st video
is an example of interrogative sentence,
while the 2nd video is an example of
exclamatory sentence, then the 3rd
video is an example of declarative
sentence, and lastly, the 4th video is an
example of imperative sentence.

Alright, Let’s proceed to our Lesson for

today

C. DISCUSSION
So, we're going to discuss the types of
sentences according to use. These are
the Declarative, Imperative,
Interrogative and Exclamatory.

When we say declarative, these are

the sentences that tells us something, a
statement. It also gives us information,
and they normally end with a
full-stop/period. They are also the most
common type of sentence.

For example:
The color of the car is red.
In this example, we were given the
information that car is in the color of red.

Another example:
China is known as the sleeping giant.
In this example, it gives a statement and
information that china is well known as
a sleeping giant.

So, class, give me one example of

declarative sentence.
Anyone?
Okay, Carpio you're raising your hand. (Ms. Carpio):
The glass is full of milk.
This sentence is considered as
declarative since it gives us an idea that
the glass is full of milk and it also end
with a full stop, Ma'am.
Excellent, Thank you Ms. Carpio.

Let's now proceed to the next one,

which is the interrogative sentence.
Interrogative sentences are the
sentences that asks us a question. That
sentence tends to ask us something to
gain information. These sentences
always end with a question mark.

So, for you to easily understand,

questions are considered as
interrogative sentence and interrogative
sentences are questions. No matter
what it is all about, as long as you're
asking for an information, it is an
interrogative sentence.

Example:
How long have you been here?
You're asking the person you're talking
to, the time he spent in that specific
place. It can be years, days, months, or
for only a couple of hours.
The main point is you're asking the
person an information regarding the
"time" spent.

Another example:
What's your opinion regarding the anti-
terror bill?
In this part, you're asking the person his
opinion regarding a specific bill.
Meaning, you wanted to know his ideas
and his side in the said bill,
nevertheless, you're still asking for an
information.
Are we clear in interrogative?

So, this act that I'm doing right now, (Ms. Almendras):
asking you all if you understood the What's your favorite color?
topic, is considered as interrogative This sentence is an interrogative, since
sentence. there's a presence of question and it
ends with a question mark.

Class, give me an example of

interrogative.

Yes, Ms. Almendras I saw you raised

your hand.

Very good, Ms. Almendras.

Any questions or clarifications?

None?
I hope everyone of you understood the
topic.

So now, Let's proceed to the third type

which is Imperative sentence.

An imperative sentence is a type of

sentence that gives instructions or
advice, and expresses a command, an
order, a direction, or a request. It may
end with an exclamation mark or a
period depending upon its delivery.
So, there are types of Imperative
sentence:

First, Share a Wish or Request. This

type of imperative sentence shares
polite wishes and requests with
someone.

Example: Have a good day.

In this example, you’re saying a wish for
someone to have a good and fine day.

The second is, Offer an invitation. This

type of imperative sentence extends an
invitation.

Example: Please join me for dinner

tonight.
At this point, you are offering an
invitation to someone to join you for a
dinner using the word “please’.

The third one is, Share a

Command/Request. This type of
imperative sentence gives a command
or shares a request.

Example: Stop beating the dog.

In this example, you’re giving a
command to someone to stop beating
the dog.
And the last type of imperative sentence
is, Give Instructions. Of course, this
type of imperative sentence gives
instruction to someone.
(Ms. Daep):
Example: Let him cool down, and then Please be careful with my heart.
ask about the incident.
On this part, the imperative sentence is
used through giving an instruction to
someone to let the man cool down, so
that he/she can ask about the incident.

Did you understand?

Okay, can you give me an example of

imperative sentence? You can also use
one type of imperative sentence which I
tackled earlier.

Yes, Ms. Daep go ahead.

Wow! Great. That's correct.

Thankyou Linda.

And now, let's proceed to the last

type of sentence according to use which
(Ms. Ela):
is the Exclamatory/Exclamative
I cannot do this anymore!
Sentence.

None
An Exclamatory sentence conveys
strong emotion. It uses an exclamation
and always ends up with an
exclamation point/mark.
Examples: Wow! What a nice view!
It's very amazing!
I love it!
In this examples, you are expressing
strong emotions such as excitement,
happiness and surprise.

Okay, now it's your turn.

Can you give me an example of
exclamatory sentence?

Yes, Ela.

Yes Ma’am
Very good.
Do you have any questions or
clarifications?

Okay. So again class, the four types of

sentences according to use are
Declarative Sentence which makes a
sentence or tells information and it ends
with a period. The Interrogative
sentence which asks a question and
usually ends with a question mark. The
Imperative Sentence which gives
instructions or advice, expresses a
command, an order, a direction, or a
request which also ends with a period or
exclamation mark. And the Exclamatory
Sentence which expresses strong
emotion and usually ends with an
exclamation mark.

Is it clear class?
D. ACTIVITY

Okay, since you already know the

types of sentences according to use,
let’s have an activity. Listen carefully, all
you have to do is to identify what type of
sentences given in each sentence and
after that you are going to read the

intonation.

world".)
Okay very good Ms. Almendras, you did
it right. You may now take your seat.

Next the fourth one, and it will be

answered by Ms. Ela.

medicine for me. (Ms. Ela will stand up)
Ms. Ela: The type of sentence is
Imperative. The way it pronounce is like
this.
(Ms. Ela will read the sentence "Go to
the drugstore and buy some medicine
Very good Ms. Ela, you may now take for me.")
your seat.

And lastly, number 5. Who wants to

answer? Okay Ms. Barabar.
5.) Can I borrow your pen?
Ms. Barabar: The answer for this
number is interrogative.
(Ms.Barabar will read the sentence,
Very good again Ms. Barabar, you may "Can I borrow your pen?")
now take your seat.

I am so glad class because all of you

ENHANCEMENT
So again, there are 4 types of
sentences according to use. The
declarative, imperative, interrogative
and exclamatory sentence. Each
sentence was use according to their
function.

(Student answered the question)

Why do you think it is important for us to
know the types of sentences? Student:
It is important to know the different
types of sentences according to use. So
that people will understand well our
message to them. It is important not just
in writing but also in talking to other
people.

Absolutely. If we know the different

types of sentences, we can use it
according to its function. We won't be
confused by the sentences that we're
going to use whenever we talk or write,
because we already know how to use it
properly.
G. ASSIGNMENT
For your assignment, create a short
story that includes the 4 types of
sentences.
