Before we proceed to our lesson for today, I’ve


prepared here an activity called FIX me! I will
show you a jumbled letters and all you need to
do is to guess and fix it just raised your right
hand so that you will be recognized. And who

Body measurement involves measuring the body

manufacturers, tailors, etc.
Thank you, body measurement plays a vital role in the
fitting, style of the dress, looks, and durability. A
perfect body measurement helps maintain the fabric's
quality with effective use of fabric in a better way.

measurement.

First, we have Horizontal, Kindly read Mr. Mj! Horizontal measurement it is taken from the left of the
figure to the right.

Next, we have vertical please read Mr. Lawrence! Vertical measurement it is taken from the top of the
figure to its base.

Lastly, we have circumferential measurement it is


taken around the body.

measurement. Please pay attention class because later

Bust - Lift your arms to the side. Measure around your
body crossing over the fullest part of your bust.

Bust to Bust - Measure from your one nipple to your

Front Shoulder to Waist - Measure from tip of


shoulder over bust to natural waistline.

from socket of one shoulder to socket of the other
shoulder.

Shoulder to Neck - Measure from base of neck along


top of shoulder to the shoulder socket.

Down Center Back - Measure from nape of neck to
natural waist.

Back Shoulder to Waist - Measure from tip of shoulder


to natural waist line.

Across Back - Measure from armhole across back to
armhole positioning tape measure + - 8cm down from
nape of neck.

Full Back - Measure from side seam, under armpits to

4cm down under armpit.

Sleeve Hole - Measure around the shoulder under the


armpit.

Bicep - Measure around the fullest part of the upper


arm.
Elbow-Do a fairly loose measurement around the bent

Over Arm- Measure from outer shoulder socket on


outside of arm, with a bent arm, to the wrist.

Side Seam - Measure from under armpit to natural


(Teacher demonstrate the different body measurement) waistline down.

Over Arm - Measure from outer shoulder socket on


outside of arm, with a bent arm, to the wrist.

on outside of arm to crook of elbow.
