Lesson 3.1 – Let’s talk, Listening and Reading (P.34)
I/ Objectives:
By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:
1.1 Language knowledge and skills:
- talk about the activities Ss would like to take part in to help community.
- practice listening and understanding general and specific information about voluntary clean-up
project.

- be active to take part in social activities.
- help other people.
- raise awareness of protecting the environment.

ACTIVITY 1: WARM – UP (10’)
a) Objective:
Introduce the new lesson and set the scene for Ss to acquire new language; get students' attention at the
beginning of the class by giving enjoyable and short activities as well as to engage them in the follow-up
steps.
b) Content: Kim’s Game to check Ss’ memories about charity events.
c) Outcomes:
Ss have general ideas about the topic “Community services”, which they are going to listen and read in the
new lesson.
d) Organization:

Task 1: Kim’s Game: (Ss watch then write down the festivals Task 1:
they can remember as many as possible). (Group work)

ACTIVITY 2: PRESENTATION (8’)


a/ Objective: Ss get to know words about community services.
b/ Content:
- Vocabulary study: reporter (n), organize (v)  organization/ organizer (n), clean-up (n), contact (v)
- Speaking: Ask and answer about a beach clean- up.
c/ Outcome: Ss know how to pronounce the new words correctly and use them when talking about a beach
clean-up.
d/ Organization:
Lead to the new lesson: UNIT 4: COMMUNITY SERVICES -
Teach new words (KWL) Lesson 3.1 (P.34)

like to join in to help community.
