I. OBJECTIVES At the end of a 50-minute lesson, the students are expected to:
a. identify the different safety precautions in different
weather conditions;
b. draw the different types of weather; and
c. state how different safety precautions affect
activities in the community.

The teacher will now present the objectives of the lesson.

At the end of a 50-minute lesson, the students are


expected to:
a. identify the different weather conditions;
b. draw the different types of weather conditions;
and
c. state the different safety precautions for each
weather conditions.

What’s New?

Play a video about weather. As the video shown, ask the learners
to watch it carefully. The following questions will be asked to
students after all the video played.

The teacher will provide a pictures and the students will list down
below the things or the activities that they are going to do to keep

The teacher will start to recall the types of weather and will discuss
the safety precautions during different weather conditions.

What are safety precautions ?
-Safety precautions are action taken in advance to protect us
against possible danger, injury,or illness. Here are some safety
precautions to follow durong each kind of weather conditions.

Safety Precautions during different weather conditions


A. Sunny day
● Wear lose fitting, light colored clothing made from
breathable fabric.
● Drink plenty of water
● Wear sunglasses or sunblock for protection against UVA and
UAv rays
● Don't expose yourself under the heat of the sun
B. Windy day
● Stay away from window
● Stay indoors
● Seek the safest shelter if you're outside
● Reduce the speed of the vehicle when you're riding/driving
C. Rainy day
● Always bring your umbrella or raincoat
● Wear thick clothes
● Go for seperate shir and and pants if needed.
● Wear boots when going for a walk outside to prevent
stepping on dirty area or muddy area.
D. Stormy day
● Stay at home and be safe
● Always tune in weather forecast
● Know your flood hazard
● Store enough food
● Prepare emergency kit.

Task 1

Separate the students into 3 groups. Allow them to choose their


own leader. For the activity, they will be given a half sheet of
manila paper. The leader will pick a paper from the teacher to
know what weather are assigned to their group. Instruct the
children to list all the safety precautions they know during different
weather conditions. They will be given 10-15 minutes to complete
the task.

Task 2

The student will now present their final activity to the class. Each
group should have at least 1-2 presenters for the given activity.

- Weather helps you decide what task or activity you can do.
- Weather helps us decide what clothes to wear.
- Weather also influenced the kind of food we eat and the
activities we do every day.

What is it?
- The learners will be asked to check their answers from the
previous activity. This time they will use what is written on
“what is in?” part.

pupil’s understanding on safety precautions during different type of
weathers.

Activity 1 – “How Can You Be Safe?”

Below is the list of activities that you should not do during a


specific kind of weather. Write on the table below which
weather they belong to.
