Week 1 Independent Learning Period


Objective: identify non-mendelian principles of Genetics.
General Instructions/Guidelines:
1) The output will be accomplished by group. Each group must have 4-5 members.
2) Create an informative and visually appealing flyer that explores the 5 non-Mendelian
patterns of inheritance.
a) Codominance
b) Incomplete Dominance
c) Multiple Alleles
d) Sex-Linked Inheritance
e) Polygenic Inheritance
3) Conduct thorough research on each non-Mendelian pattern. Ensure you understand
the concepts, mechanisms, and real-world examples of each pattern.
4) Use a graphic design tool of your choice (e.g., Canva, Adobe Spark, Microsoft
Publisher) to create your flyer. Your flyer should be visually appealing, organized, and
easy to read. Consider using colors, fonts, and graphics to enhance the overall design.
5) Clear and concise explanations of each non-Mendelian pattern.
6) Real-world examples or scenarios illustrating each pattern.
7) Engaging visuals, such as diagrams, charts, or images, to complement the
information.
8) Be creative in your approach. Think about how you can make the information
interesting and memorable for your audience.
9) The flyer must be printed on a Long Bond Paper, shall be collected by the Class
President, and compiled in a long folder.
10) The deadline for submitting your flyer is JANUARY 25, 2024 both Set A and B. Late
submissions will be subject to a deduction.
11) Your flyer will be evaluated based on content accuracy, relevance, depth of
understanding, design and creativity, grammar and spelling, and overall impression.
