III. Procedure
A. Preliminary Activities
1. Drill
Let the learners arrange a scrambled word.

Let them read the words they formed.

2. Review
Put the pictures of food to the group they belong.

B. Developing Activities
1. Motivation
Group the learners into 3 Groups. Let them puzzle the picture.

2. Presentation
Show the puzzled picture. Are you familiar with the picture?
This is what we called the Pinggang Pinoy.

What can you see in the plate?


Which group of food does the fish belong?
Which group of food does the banana and
malunggay leaves belong?
Which group of food does the rice belong?

Pinggang Pinoy

The Pinggang Pinoy shows the amount of


food that we will going to eat to get the
exact nutrition. It is a food guide using a
food plate model to shows the recommended
proportion by food groups in every meal,
intended specifically for healthy Filipinos.

Importance of eating balanced meal

 Maintain strong and active body.


 Helps to avoid diseases.
 Sharpen our memory.
 Makes our skin healthy.
 Helps you to sleep well.

3. Discussion
Answer the following questions:

1. What is the effect of right nutrition in our body?


2. What is the effect of malnutrition in our body?
3. What are the importance of eating balanced meal?
4. How can you make your body healthy?
5. Give examples of food the we need to eat in order to get the
right nutrition?

4. Drill: Group Activity


Group the learners into 3 Groups. Let them discuss and write in
the manila paper the importance of balanced meal in their health.
Let them report and discuss their answers by group.

C. Post Activities

What are the importance of eating a balanced meal?

2. Application
Draw your own representation of a balanced meal of Lunch and
Dinner. Draw it in a bond paper.

IV. Evaluation
Group the learners into 3 Groups. Let them discuss the importance of
balanced meal in their health by role playing.

Evaluate the leaners using rubric for discussion.
