I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
A. Explain the importance of nutrition and define nutritional needs of a
person during adolescence;
B. Recall the importance of nutrition to our health; and
C. Create a short jingle that talks about nutritional needs of adolescence.
B. Activity
The teacher will present a 1-minute video clip about Nutritional dance.
Teacher will let the students watch the video and let them understand what it
talks about. The teacher will let the students follow the dance video while at the
same time understanding what the video talks about.
C. Analysis
After the activity, the teacher will ask the following questions;
1. What is the video clip talks about?
2. What do you think nutrition is?
3. What is the importance of nutrition to our health?
D. Abstraction
E. Application
The teacher will give an activity called “I Ball-ieve”. The teacher will show
a paper ball to the student. The teacher will throw the ball and the student who
got hit or be able to catch the ball will answer the question. Every answer should
always start with “I believe”.
F. Generalization
After doing all the activities, the teacher will call students to summarize all
the discussions and review what has been taught by asking the following
questions:
IV. Evaluation
The teacher will be giving an activity called “A Nutrition Jingle”. The teacher
will group the class into four (4) and ach group should compose of 10 members.
Assign a leader for each group. Each group should create a short jingle about
nutritional needs of adolescence that will last for a maximum of 5 minutes. The
group will be graded/evaluated based on the rubrics below.
V. Assignment
The students will have an advance reading about the “Nutrition Problems
of Adolescents: Malnutrition and micronutrient deficiencies” for the next class
