TASK 1 –VISUALIZE ME!

Directions: Give the appropriate response to the following scenario.

1. A Korean national is standing in front of a cashier and seems like hungry. The cashier

felt that he needs something to eat. Knowing his nationality what will you do to

communicate with him in getting his order?

To communicate with him, I’ll be going to speak English slowly and clearly. But if he doesn’t

understand me because of it, I will use body language. In this way, I could speak through actions

and gestures. And to have eye contact with him to know that I’m sincerely helping.

2. There is Filipino Muslim who wants to eat in your restaurant. He seems tired and

need something to eat and drink. Upon knowing his ethnicity, what will be the food you

will offer to him to make him decide abruptly and satisfy his craving for food?

I will serve him something vegetables because I know they don’t eat pork, and if there’s

any meat that’s available like beef or anything except pork.

3. There is cross-dresser looking for perfume inside the mall where you are working. As

the sales clerk how will you address the customer properly to avoid discrimination?

Knowing the person's identity, I will inquire how I should or may address her/him to

make her/him feel at ease.
