TASK 1 –VISUALIZE ME!

Directions: Give the appropriate response to the following scenario.

1. A Korean national is standing in front of a cashier and seems like hungry. The cashier
felt that he needs something to eat. Knowing his nationality what will you do to
communicate with him in getting his order?

Try to approach his/her in a very nice way. Because we don’t know their beliefs
and etiquette. We don’t know how to give them the approach that they want.

2. There is Filipino Muslim who wants to eat in your restaurant. He seems tired and
need something to eat and drink. Upon knowing his ethnicity, what will be the food you
will offer to him to make him decide abruptly and satisfy his craving for food?

Knowing that he is a Muslim I will offer food that’s not offending with their
beliefs and values. I will offer different kinds of meat such as chicken or beef and
vegetables. So I can help him and respect him at the same time.

3. There is cross-dresser looking for perfume inside the mall where you are working. As
the sales clerk how will you address the customer properly to avoid discrimination?

I will approach / address the cross dresser as what gender he/she portrays and
preferred. Not because someone is cross dressing as a man she want her to be addressed
as a man. So it’s better to ask what they’re pronouns.

barriers.

1. Helping a Japanese national locating Tokyo-Tokyo Restaurant inside the Sta. Lucia
Mall.

2. Telling the direction going to Cubao to a Cebuano.

3. Helping an American national how to cook “Sinigang”.
