MESSAGE
For the Facilitaor:
This module is intended for grade 6 learners for them to have a deeper
understanding on identifying the appearance and uses of uniform and non-uniform mixture
and classifying them according to their kind. There are different activities and assessments
for the learner to measure their learnings about this module. Further, this module develops
their attitudes required to acquire the knowledge and skills about mixtures that they can use
to their daily lives.
You, as a learner must read carefully each part and answer whatever is being ask.
You can ask assistance from your siblings or anybody else who can help you in this module
but not to give the answer totally. You have to ensure that you accomplished the given
activities before reporting to your teacher for an actual assessment. If you pass the
assessment, you can proceed to the next module.
This module was designed and written for you to help you master the knowledge and
skills in identifying the appearance of uniform and non-uniform mixtures and classifying
them according to their kinds.
The scope of this module permits it to be used in many different learning situations.
The language used recognizes the diverse vocabulary level of students. The lessons are
arranged to follow the standard sequence of the course. But the order in which you read
them can be changed to correspond with the textbook you are now using.
The following icons will serve as your guide as you go on the different parts of the
lesson that you need to read, analyse and answer:
What I Know (This assesses what you know about the lesson you are to
tackle.)
(Subukin) Maikling pagsusulit bago umpisahan ang aralin
2
What’s in (This connects the current lessons with the previous
lessons.)
(Balikan) Idinudugtong nito ang kasalukuyang aralin sa nakaraang
paksa.
What’s new (This introduces the lesson through an activity.)
(Tuklasin) Ipinapakilala ang aralin sa pamamagitan ng isang gawain
Learning Objectives:
1) Identify the appearance of the two kinds mixture;
2) Appreciate the importance of mixture to everyday life;
3) Classify uniform and non-uniform mixtures.
What I Know

substances. The appearance of some of the substance can still be seen. What
kind of mixture is formed?

What’s new
Our health is very much affected by mixtures that we knowingly and unknowingly
encounter in our environment. It’s time that we have a deeper study of mixtures. It is
therefore vital for you to name, classify and identify the kinds of mixtures and their
characteristics.
Read and analyze.
Mixture is a combination of two or more substances that are not chemically
combined. A mixture can come in any form. It may be solid, liquid, or in gaseous
form.
There are so many uses of mixtures: cooking, cleaning, decoration, medicine,
construction, beautification, offices, farming and others.
Two Kinds of Mixtures
Activity 1
A. Direction: Identify what is being described in each statement. Refer to what you
have read in what’s new.

3. ________________ is a homogeneous mixture.
4. ________________ is a heterogeneous mixture.
5. Mixture can come in any ____________.

What is It
Kinds of Mixture
Substances are evenly mixed that’s Substances are not evenly mixed
they can not be already recognized that’s why the materials can be still
from one another. It become one recognized from one another. Two or
substance only. more substances remain
