Đại từ nhân xưng: Where’s the knife? I can’t find it
+ I, you, he, she, it, we, they (chủ ngữ)
+ Me, you, him, her, it, us, them (tân ngữ)
Đại từ sở hữu: Is that your oen? It’s similar to mine
+ mine, yours, his, hers, its, ours, theirs
Tính từ sở hữu:
+ my, your, his, her, its, our, their
Đại từ phản thân We didn’t decorate the house ourselves
+ myself, yourself, himself, herself, itself (số ít)
+ yourselves, ourselves, themselves (số nhiều)
Đại từ quan hệ: The girl whom I met yesterday is a new friend of
+ who, whom, which, whose, that mine
Đại từ chỉ định That house is so beautiful.
+ this, that
+ these, those
Đại từ đối ứng: They love each other
+ each other (lẫn nhau, dùng cho 2 người/vật) They phone on another regularly
+ one another (lẫn nhau, dùng cho ≥ 3 người/vật)

a) Mạo từ a/an

 - Đứng trước từ có chữ cái đầu tiên được phiên âm - Đứng trước từ có chữ cái đầu tiên được phiên âm
là 1 phụ âm là 1 nguyên âm
- Ex: a cat, a unique experience - Ex: an old man, an hour
- Đi với N đếm được số ít không xác định  Ex: She’s a teacher
- Theo sau what/such/quite + N đếm được  Ex: It’s such an interesting film.
- Trước 1 số tên bệnh: fever, headache, …  Ex: I had a terrible headache yesterday.

b) Mạo từ The
Là mạo từ xác định, đi dược với cả N đếm được và N The information
không đếm được
Đi với tên các dụng cụ âm nhạc John is playing the piano.
The + adj  chỉ tầng lớp người The poor here nedd help
Dùng cho so sánh nhất Tim is the nicest guy I’ve ever known
Đi với từ chỉ số thứ tự: the first, the second, … She’s the last person to get the ticket
Dùng với tên 1 số quốc gia: the UK, the US, the Philippines, She studies abroad in the US.
…
Dùng với các sự vật mà ai cũng biết rõ The sun rises in the East
Dùng với điều được ngầm hiểu giữa người nói và người Give me the book on the table

Theo cấu trúc The N1 prep the N2 The roof of the house was brown
Dùng với N được bổ nghĩa bởi mệnh đề quan hệ The man whom I saw yesterday was our
new teacher.
Dùng với các cụm từ cố định: the Internet, the radio, the There are a lot of reading materials on
world, … the Internet.

c) Không dùng mạo từ

Không dùng trước:
- môn thể thao, phương tiện giao thông  Ex: I play badmintn every afternoon.
- đường phố, tên hầu hết các quốc gia  I live in Vietnam
- môn học, quốc tịch, ngôn ngữ  Your majors in Vietnamese.

Others: đứng 1 mình làm đại từ Some people like him. Others hate him.

c) Many, much, a lot of (lots of), some

Many + N đếm được số nhiều Many students like him.
Much + N không đếm được I don’t earn much money
A lot of =lots of + N A lot of water has been prepared since yesterday.
Some + N Some information about new class is essential.

d) Neither, either, both, most, most of, almost, each, every, all
Neither … nor: không … cũng không Neither Peter nor Linda was like
Either … or: hoặc … hoặc Either you leave now or I call the police
Both … and: cả … và Both Nam and Lan were late
Most + N: hầu hết Most information is outdated.
Most of + the/tính từ sở hữu + N: gần như Most of his students were good.
Almost + V/adj: suýt nữa Almost all of the passengers are Vietnamese
Almost all of the/every + N: gần như
Each/ every + N đếm được số ít: mỗi/mọi Each student is required to do this work
All + N: tất cả All the people were French
