B. Greetings!
Good afternoon Grade 4 section Malaya! How are Good

That’s good to hear then. Very good learners!

D. Setting of Classroom Rules

Before we proceed to our discussion, allow me to
mention our classroom rules first.
1. Always treat each other with respect.
2. Zip your mouth and listen to your teacher
when he or she is discussing.
3. Raise your right hand before speaking or
leaving your seat.
4. Keep your areas clean.
5. Work hard and try your best always.

So, seat properly, put all the unnecessary things in Yes teacher!
your bag, and eyes and ears on me only. Are those
clear learners?

A. Review previous
lesson or presenting Can anyone tell me what was our previous lesson? The
the new lesson observation
of weather
conditions.

Right!
What is the meaning of weather conditions that I’ve Weather
discussed last time? condition is
the regional
weather
during a
defined time
from one up
to several
weeks.

Very good! Weather

What else? condition is
describing
typical
weather
phenomena,
such as a
series of
thunderstorm
in hot
summer,
foggy month
in autumn or
other
weather
conditions
which are
typical for a
specific
region and/or
season.

Good Job!
How does observing weather conditions help us on Observing
our daily lives? the weather
condition will
help us
decide the
kind of
activities we
will do for the
day.

Okay! Each one of

What else? us must care
about the
weather
because our
works
depends on
its condition
for each day,
knowing the
weather
condition
help us to be
safe and
prepare for
dangers and
calamities.
What else? Temperature
, humidity,
precipitation,
air pressure,
wind speed
and wind
direction are
key
observations
of the
atmosphere
that help
forecasters
predict the
weather.

Excellent class! You still remember our past lesson! (The pupils

Now class, do you know what our topic is for today?

Okay, our lesson for today is all about “Making

simple Interpretations about Weather”.
D. During the lesson Are you all ready to listen learners? Yes teacher!
Discussing new concepts That’s good to hear then!
and practicing new skills #1
A simple weather chart contains necessary
information about the weather at a certain area,
date, and time. These include the temperature, sky
condition/covering, wind, speed, wind direction, and
precipitation.

Weather charts are the fundamental basis for

weather analysis and forecasts. They are based
on the data collected by weather stations on the
ground and on the data at high altitudes by probes
and satellites.

A weather forecast is a scientific prediction of what

the weather will be like in an hour, tomorrow, or in
the next few days. Studying weather involves
evaluating the conditions of Earth’s atmosphere.
Once the forecast is made, it is disseminated to
radio and TV Stations to inform people.
E. During the lesson Some things that make weather forecasting
Discussing new concepts possible.
and practicing new skills #2
Meteorology is the study of the atmosphere,
atmosphere phenomena, and atmospheric effects
on our weather.
-Meteorologists use scientific principles to observe,
explain, and forecast our weather. They often focus
on atmospheric research or operational weather
forecasting. They also research the relationship
between the atmosphere and Earth’s climate,
oceans, and biological life.

-In the Philippines, the Philippine Atmospheric

Geological and Astronomical Services
Administration (PAGASA) is the government agency
tasked to monitor weather and astronomy.

These are examples of weather charts from

PAGASA.

F. Developing Mastery I think you are all ready to do an activity. Kids, this
activity is called “Are the weather conditions the
same in the different places at different time?”
Directions:
 Kindly observe the weather charts A, B, C,
and D.
 Take note of the different information they
contain.
 Make simple interpretations about the
weather based the data recorded on it by
answering the guide questions.

A. Weather Chart A
Date/ Tim Wind Wind Temperatur Sky
Place e Speed Directio e Conditio

Dec. 7:00 Moderat East 230°C Fair to
29/Cebu am e Cloudy
April 15 7:00 Light North 280°C Fair to

B. Weather Chart B
Place July 21
Pampanga Fair sky condition, temperature
ranges from 300°C-340°C, wind is
blowing North.
Tagaytay Light to Moderate Northeast wind,
sky is cloudy with brief rain shower,
temperature 200°C-240°C.
Davao Occasional rain shower and
City thunderstorm in the morning with
strong eastly winds, temperature
ranges 250°C-300°C.

C. Weather Chart C

Guide Questions:
1. What are the data recorded in your
weather chart?
2. What can you say about the
weather in Cebu on the indicated
dates and time?
3. How will you describe the weather
conditions in Pampanga, Tagaytay,
and Davao City?
4. What can you say about the
weather conditions in Metro Manila,
Visayas, and Mindanao?
5. What can you say about the
weather conditions in Manila,
Bukidnon, and Cebu?
G. Finding practical Weather forecasting is very important helps people (Learners will
applications of prepare for a variety of weather conditions, some of state in front
concepts and skills which can be hazardous to our health, others that of the class
in daily living can cause unsafe driving conditions, and some that the things
can cause major property damages. A forecast that need to

supplies to prepare for extreme weather.
