reasons.

involving physical activities and risks.
Ex. Snorkeling Trip and Mt. Batulao hike in Batangas,
5. Environmental - Environmental tourism, also known as ecotourism, is a type of
tourism that aims to minimize the negative impacts and maximize the positive
benefits of travel on the natural environment and the local communities.
Ex. Taal Volcano Boat Tour, Hidden Valley Hot Springs
6. Culinary - Culinary or food tourism involves tasting and experiencing local and
traditional food in a specific place.

Forms of Tourism: (United Nations, 1994)

1. Domestic - residents of a given country traveling within their country of origin.
2. Inbound - non-residents or foreigners who travel within a given country.
3. Outbound - involves people who travel from one country to another.

Kinds of Tourists: (TESDA & DepEd, 2015)

1. Budget tourist - Relies on limited funds, often accumulated from savings or
allowances. Economy is prioritized over service quality. Likely students or
freelancers without a stable income source. May travel alone or in groups.
2. Regular tourist - Average earner with a stable job. Limited time for travel due to
work responsibilities. Seeks value for money and some level of comfort but not
necessarily luxury. Often travels with office mates, family, or alone.
High-End tourist - Stable economic status, possibly retirees or business owners. Willing
to spend more for premium services and luxury experiences. Values quality over
economy. Often travels with loved ones or friends, sometimes at their own expense.
